My name is Ang. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen University and am currently pursuing a PhD in Computational Biology in Sikander Hayat's group at Uniklinik RWTH Aachen.
Coming from a computer science background, I am particularly interested in applying and developing machine learning methods to better understand complex biological systems. My research interests include single-cell genomics, deep learning, and foundation models, with a particular focus on learning meaningful representations of cells and genes from large-scale biological data.
More broadly, I am interested in how computational models can be used to study disease-associated cellular changes, integrate different types of biological information, and ultimately support therapeutic target discovery and drug development.
