My name is Leon, I have a master and bachelor of science in biology with the master specialising in medical life science. Jointly with the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai, I am pursuing a doctorate in natural science in Sikander Hayat’s group at the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen.
I am interested and disease research, drug discovery, and machine learning. Currently i am focused on bulk, single cell, and spatial transcriptomics but I am expanding into multi omics (ATAC seq, Proteomics, Metabolomics) as well as non omic data such as H&E slides and electronic health records.
My machine learning applications at the moment are focused on AI agents and LLMs, expanding into other deep learning approaches and foundation models. In drug discovery i especially like to potential of large direct impact on patients and the more novel approaches like cell and gene therapies.
